Body Scan
This
full body scan takes three-dimensional images of
the internal organs in less than 25 seconds!
Cancer and other growths in the abdominal and
pelvic organs such as the liver, pancreas,
spleen, kidneys, bladder, as well as large
growths on the ovaries and uterus can be
visualized. Gall stones, kidney stones, aortic
aneurysms can also be found. These abnormalities
may be impossible to find on physical
examinations, but with CT technology their
detection allows for earlier intervention and
treatment, often before they become inoperable
or incurable.
Heart Scan
This
basic heart screening study also known as
“Cardiac Calcium Scoring”, evaluates your risk
of coronary artery disease. The scanner acquires
images of your coronary arteries, these arteries
supply blood to the heart muscle. The test
detects the amount of calcium buildup in the
walls of the coronary vessels, and calculates a
"calcium score." A high score for your age group
is statistically associated with increased risk
of coronary events in the future. Images are
acquired in a single breath hold of
approximately 15 seconds!
Bone Density Scan
Osteoporosis is the gradual decline in bone
mass with age, leading to increased bone
fragility and fractures. The majority of
osteoporotic fractures occur in older women, due
to a natural decline in bone density after
menopause. This 5 minute exam quantifies your
Bone Density and determines your risk of future
bone fracture.
Carotid Duplex Scan
This 10 minute exam is an Vascular Imaging
study of the carotid arteries. Utilizing
ultrasound technology, your risk for stroke is
evaluated by determining the amount of plaque
build up in your carotid arteries. Excessive
amounts of plaque can narrow these arteries and
compromise blood flow to the brain which can
lead to stroke.
Lung Scan
In just one breath hold, very thin sections
of your lungs are imaged. This test can detect
lung cancer at the earliest stages. With Lifescape Imaging
- Cypress's advanced technology and protocols,
cancers even as small as a few millimeters can
be detected. The majority of cancers found with
CT technology can be removed if diagnosed in the
early stages.
Total Spine Survey
Utilizing MRI technology, a complete survey
of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar spines are
obtained in less than 5 minutes. This exam is
useful for detecting herniations (bulges) of the
intervertebral discs, degenerative disc disease,
compression fractures and proper alignment of
vertebral bodies. This test is ideal for those
suffering from neck and back pain, strain or
discomfort.
Brain Scan
This brain tumor and stroke screening scan
includes both MRI and MRA evaluations. The MRI
exam is designed to detect tumors, multiple
sclerosis and early dementia. The MRA examines
the vasculature of the brain for abnormalities
which may lead to stroke such as aneurysms. This
procedure is for those with a personal or family
history of stroke, migraine headaches, high
blood pressure, high cholesterol or diabetes.
Colon Scan
Virtual Colonoscopy is a quick screening
procedure that does not require the use of an
endoscope to evaluate the colon. CT technology
is used to gather detailed images of the lining
of the colon. The procedure is used to diagnose
colon or bowel disease such as polyps,
diverticulosis, and cancer. While taking
preparation for this exam varies, the patient
will usually be asked to take laxatives or other
oral agents the day before the procedure to
clear stool from the colon and to ensure an
optimal exam. Virtual colonoscopy does not
require the use of sedatives. Just before the
scan, air is instilled in the colon. A single
breath hold of 15-20 seconds is required during
the scan to avoid distortion of the images and
the test is finished. This test can take the
place of conventional fiber optic scoping of the
colon in screening for colon cancer in those
individuals who cannot tolerate such invasive
colonoscopy.
Results of the test
At Lifescape Imaging
- Cypress, we have a radiologist / cardiologist on site so your test will be interpreted promptly.
The results are shared with you immediately
following the procedure in a private
consultation with one of our Board Certified
Radiologists. In addition, we provide a CD-Rom
of all the images for you to take with you. Your
results can be phoned, faxed, mailed, or
delivered electronically to the physician of
your choice upon your request. Why worry when
you can have peace of mind. Prevention today is
